Why does my screen resolution change every time I turn on my computer?

every time I turn on my computer it goes back to 800 by 600. How can I keep it to the resolution I have it(1024 by 768).Why does my screen resolution change every time I turn on my computer?
your graphics card is all farked up. that's one way you know it's on the fritz, you should get a new one, or if it's an onboard one (meaning shoddily crafted) then get a offboard card, and that will make a big difference. click the 1024 by 768 in the display settings and save it ..
