How do I change my screen resolution for my laptop back to default settings?

My laptop is a 15.6 inch Compac Presario CQ60-212US

I played Spore and did not know my battery was running out. The computer shut off and when it turned back on, my screen resolution had changed. I do not know the factory settings for my resolution because I never had a reason to change it before now. Can you help?How do I change my screen resolution for my laptop back to default settings?
I'm assuming that your laptop operates on a Microsoft environment. Changing the resolution of the screen can be be found on the Properties option when you right click on the mouse.
