How do you change the screen resolution on your computer?

My computer broke down so I sent it to be repaired... What they did was just replace the mother board. I turned on the computer and everything but the screen resolution was fine (the screen was to big for the monitor) I have had this problem before and I know how to fix it but when I opened display properties and changed the resolution to a higher number after I click Apply the screen goes blank then comes up again with the same settings. Please Help I have tried everythingHow do you change the screen resolution on your computer?
it sounds like when they swapped the motherboard, they swapped it to a different model, with a different integrated video card. So your computer is trying to use the old video card driver for the new video card.

If they gave you a CD with drivers for the new motherboard, you can run that and install the new drivers. Else if you find out the new model of the video card, you can download the driver

Your last option is to go back to the store and tell them they didn't finish their job.How do you change the screen resolution on your computer?
check if ur vga card is still intact with ur motherboard...maybe the computer guys u gave it to have not connected ur vga card to the new motherboard...

good luck
Hmm. Try to find an auto adjust on your monitor.
A cd should have come with your knew motherboard, put the disk into your computer, then right click on 'my computer' and click on 'manage', a window called 'computer management' should appear, On the left side click on 'device manager', on the right side all the hardware on your computer will appear, if there are any question marks, right click on them and select 'update driver' and follow the prompts. After you have done that you should be able to change the resolution to your normal setting.
