How do i change the screen resolution?

i reinstalled windows xp to my computer and i know i have to load something from the resource cd, but dont know what. i want to make the screen resolution so everything is smaller. please help, thanks. How do i change the screen resolution?
1.Open Display in Control Panel.

2.On the Settings tab, under Screen resolution, drag the slider, and then click Apply.

3.When prompted to apply the settings, click OK. Your screen will turn black for a moment.

4.Once your screen resolution changes, you have 15 seconds to confirm the change. Click Yes to confirm the change; click No or do nothing to revert to your previous setting.

Note

o open Display, click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.

 higher screen resolution reduces the size of items on your screen and increases the relative space on your desktop

ou can switch your screen resolution temporarily to 640 X 480 if you have games or other programs that are set to run at that resolution. To switch, right-click the game or program (on the desktop or on the Start menu), and then click Properties. Click the Compatibility tab, and then select the Run in 640x480 screen resolution check box. Your display reverts to its default resolution when you close the program.

our monitor and video adapter determine how much you can change your screen resolution. You may not be able to increase the resolution above a certain level.

hanges to screen resolution affect all users that log on to the computer.

nly the recommended screen resolutions are listed. For additional settings, click the Advanced button on the Settings tab, click the Adapter tab, and then click List all Modes. Select the resolution, color level, and refresh rate you want. How do i change the screen resolution?
right click on the desktop anywhere and choose properties, then settings.
right click on desktop and select Properties, and then click the last tab labeled settings and you can change your screen resolutions there, good luck!
you may need to install the video card drivers first. Then you can change the resolution by right clicking on the desktop... selecting properties....then selecting the settings tab....

鈼?You should have read a great book called ';Windows XP For Dummies'; (no I'm not calling you a dummy) like I did when I first got on the Web. Except back then it was called ';Windows 95 For Dummies';. Trust me it's a great book and has lots of humor in it as well. There are two of them. Get the one that is 9 books in one. it has the most info. Don't read this book from cover-to-cover. Instead use it as a reference book.

鈼?This book will teach you haow do do many many things with your computer. Some of them are copy, paste, delete, highlighting text, making a file, saving a file and the list goes on and on. Getting on the web before you learn the basics of your computer is like trying to be a race car driver before you learn how to drive.

鈼?Look for this book at your local public library. If they don't have it have them use their username and password to login to firstsearch.org where they can get any book from any library in the world. :)
