I want to change my screen resolution higher?

as at the monet i have it set to 800x600 and i want it bigger about the screen resolution it says default monitor ATI Technolgies ATI 264VT2 PCI so i think i need to download a update or summin from there bit i dont know how to do it please can someone helpI want to change my screen resolution higher?
RESOLUTION SET UP:

right-click on the Desktop %26gt;%26gt; Properties %26gt;%26gt; Settings

There is a resolution slider. Recommended resolution is 1024x768 for monitors smaller than 19'; and 1280x1024 for bigger. Recommended to set colours to 32-bit. Good luck!

Well it depends on what size screen you have to what resolution you need.



To change it (for a windows xp)



right click on your desktop then go Properties.

then a window comes up .. across the top there are little tab things ... go to setting then there is a slider bar adjust it to what resolution you want ...
