My screen resolution changes every time I play a full screen game but the game only loads as a small square?

My screen resolution changes every time I play a full screen game but the game only loads as a small square in the centre of the screen, which ultimately leads to me missing details/dieing etc.

Is it only one particular game or a number of games?? If its only one game, then go to the game settings and adjust the resolution and set the screen calibration to Full Screen. Also try re installing the game. your screen will change resolution during play when your desktop resolution is not the same as your game resolution. the small square that you are seeing can be either be caused by your outdated video card, the incompatibility of the game to your graphics card or the incompatibility of your monitor to you graphics card. what i mean by the latter is that your monitor may not support uncommon or very high resolutions used by the game like for example 1768 x 1024. to solve this, adjust the settings of the game you are playing until it fits your graphics card and monitor.
